Anwar's Facebook status was updated with a reference to Nik Aziz's passing.
“Anyone from outside the prison can manage his Facebook and Twitter accounts,” the department said last night through its official Twitter account, apparently in response to bloggers who noted that Anwar’s Facebook account was active even after he was sent to prison on February 10.
A posting uploaded on February 13 on Anwar’s official account had this message: “I asked only for a little charity so that I could pay my respects, but what can I do? I pray from afar. He’ll always be in my memory.”
It is believed that he was referring to the Prisons Department’s denial of permission for him to pay his last respects to the late spiritual adviser of PAS, Nik Aziz Mat, who died last Thursday.
