Four more local blog sites, syedsoutsidethebox, tabunginsider, fotopages, and Din Turtle have been blocked by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
It is believed that the sites can no longer be accessed on certain platforms since this morning.
Veteran newsman Ahiruddin Atan on his own blog had highlighted Syed Akbar Ali's last posting dated yesterday, where he had confirmed MCMC's restriction.
Tabunginsider is a newly-created blog site that had exposed a warning letter allegedly issued by Bank Negara to the management of Tabung Haji.
The reasons behind MCMC's ban on Minaq Jinggo's photo blog is unclear.
Within the media circle, he is known as an independent photojournalist who covers politicians from both BN and opposition parties.
Din Turtle, on the other hand, is a prominent name in the Malay blogosphere.
He is known as a fierce critic of Prime Minister Najib Razak and supporter of former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Earlier this week, MCMC had also blocked access to online publication platform Medium.com over its refusal to remove an article that was first published by whistleblower site Sarawak Report, which had similarly been blocked. -Mkini
No worry about blocked website or blog. Just change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and alternative DNS to 8.8.4.4. These are google DNS which MCMC will never be able to convince.
