Speedy transfer of Mersing HM suggests double standards

YOURSAY l ‘It's sad to note the selective action taken by the education minister.’
Saya Pun Nak Cari Makan: The authorities must be congratulated for its quick action in punishing the headmistress (HM) of a Chinese primary school in Mersing by transferring her elsewhere.
And it is indeed an action in the right direction if the HM is racist. But, at the same time, the authority must not regard the three teachers in question as angels.
Quite often, these teachers have political connections which offer them 'protection' from any action against them.
Jbsuara: This is an obvious double standard - no action is taken against the racist Malay headmistress who utter derogatory remarks against non-Malay students.
Yet in this case, even an independent investigation is yet to be carried out and actions have already been taken.
ConstitutionIsSupreme: It's sad to note the selective action taken by the education minister.
I must say this is not a racial issue but I just can't help but feel strongly if the teacher was an Indian and the headmistress was a Malay, will the education minister or ministry act promptly as in this case?
The fact is we don't see this swift action in past cases such as the one involving students eating in the toilets. The headmaster even made public statements justifying his decision.
The education minister/ministry needs to consistently practise professionalism in all their decisions if they wish to deny there is no double standard.
Thinkingmachine: There always seems to be friction among the races in Malaysia. Racism keeps rearing its ugly head from time to time, whether the culprit is a Malay, Chinese or Indian.
We are constantly faced with the challenge of preserving our national unity. Incidences of this nature are good for the politicians who would prefer to divide and rule.
We have to guard ourselves from the many communal issues and coming back to headmistress, she must be dealt with properly.
CQ Muar: Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali, let's put it to vote as to who's lying. To begin with, you've absolutely no credibility and dignity. Just one look at you is convincing enough whether you're telling the truth.
The fact you hopped from one party to another, which is a characteristic of frogs, is enough to convince us of your inherent nature. For goodness sake, stop acting like a clown and spare us your stupidity, Ibrahim.
Anonymous 24331438100949: When Ibrahim wanted to contest as PAS candidate in Pasir Mas, he even begged the late Kelantan MB Nik Aziz Nik Mat to give him the seat, after which he criticised Tok Guru.
He will also deny this and say he never seek any help from Tok Guru.
Senior Citizen: Ibrahim Ali, the people expect you to make some noise on the land sale by 1MDB to a foreign company as you always claim yourself the defender of Malays and the Rulers, but you dare not make a sound on this matter.
So you tried divert the people 's attention to DAP to cover up your silence on the 1MDB issue. Nice try, Ibrahim.
Democrat: Who do you believe?
A politician who has jumped parties 10 times, stood on an opposition ticket and left it for BN after that or someone who has been in the same party which he built even after two ISA (Internal Security Act) arrests totalling 30 months? No brainer here.
Hamzah Paiman: Sorry Ibrahim, as a Muslim I trust Mr Lim more than you. Your bad track record shows what kind of dishonest and untrustworthy person you are.
You are an opportunist and therefore people have stopped believing you.
Mojo Jojo: Ibrahim Ali, so as far as you can remember, you never sought help from DAP leader Lim Kit Siang? This means that you could have sought for his help but conveniently "forgot" that you did it?
Sigh, the fact that anyone would elect someone the likes of you simply baffles me?
Lone_Star: Lim, it could be someone else croaking on the phone. Surely, you cannot distinguish between his (being Ibrahim) and his (being the one on the phone).
But then again, he was probably not croaking then yet.
Commentable: Unlike Lim, the Perkasa chief has apparently built himself a big reputation - one that says lie first and wait until later to decide whether it is worth spinning that lie. -Mkini
