Zaid, you say what others want to say but fear to

YOURSAY | 'There's always a price to pay in speaking out for truth and justice.'
Vijay47: Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim, your description of judges' attitudes and mentality is something all Malaysians can readily agree with, since it is true.
The sun rises in the east, rivers flow downstream, cocks crow in the morning, and big-time crooks get away with murder.
In the same way, judges become politicians, and politicians become judges. If completely lacking in kindness, compassion and that little matter of justice, then one invariably transforms into the dark other.
Dignity, self-respect, and a sense of purpose have long lost out to titles, position and huge wealth.
Your refusal to buckle under, Zaid, is indeed admirable, but you might get slapped with another charge - showing disrespect to judges by being not afraid of their threats.
SteveOh: Zaid is absolutely right and I am glad there are Malaysians, especially Malays, who are like him. The saying you can't keep a good man down or quiet, has him in mind.
There is always a price to pay, a cross to carry, when Zaid and others like him speak out for truth and justice.
If only the rakyat had more backbone, Malaysia will not be in the pathetic state it is in now and Zaid would not be singled out for harassment.
I just can't fathom why good people like Zaid are being persecuted when we all agree with much of what he writes.
Chokstone: Zaid, you are one of the few fighters for democracy in Malaysia. You always speak with sense, without siding any race or religion, and dare to speak up even under the threat of jail, for the rights of the people.
You are the best example of a true Malaysian. You are saluted by all democracy-loving rakyat. A lot more people will be inspired by your fighting spirit.
When more and more people stand up and are brave enough to express their minds for their rights and fight for the truth, you won't be caught in such trouble again.
Headhunter: Telling it like it is. Thank you, Zaid. We hope you remain fearless and hold on to your high principles. May Allah be with you, sir.
LBS: Zaid, you have spoken your mind loud and clear. You have said what many others have in mind but dare not bring them out.
With due respect, our beloved Agong and the sultans should call a Conference of Rulers to discuss the judiciary.
They should give these judges advice and also a ticking off. With all upheavals in the country day in and day out, we, the rakyat, need to hear from them.
A Patriot: We need more people like you, Zaid, men of substance to speak for the underdog and the unfortunate.
Please continue to do so for you are equipped with the knowledge, skill, experience and training in law. We will pray for success in your endeavours.
Mohican: Zaid, when I think about you, the words of Rabindranath Tagore come to mind: "Let us pray not to be shielded from danger but to be fearless when facing them."
Bushels of thanks, dear Zaid, you will never lose. What an awesome man of steel. A rare Malaysian indeed.
I must confess my dear Zaid, that I am not as brave and courageous as you are - I am an absolute coward. I pray that God will hear you and protect you from the wiles of evil men.
6th Generation Immigrant: What Zaid has expressed is sickness and symptoms as the results of years of abusive political hegemony.
With meritocracy thrown out the window by political masters, protective inbreeding, stringent racial quotas, instilling a false sense of racial supremacy, religious bigotry, Malaysia is left with crumbs and scrapes from the bottom of barrels.
One must surely have a relook at all the senior and important positions in the country. Are there any outstanding characters? Look into the ruling political parties, any great future leaders in the making?
Malaysia is falling faster than the collapse of the Roman Empire - political hegemony too destroyed it.
Anonymous_40f4: Indira Gandhi will never get her child back if the BN government continues in power in Putrajaya. They again form committees to hoodwink the people.
PM Najib Razak is playing politics in Indira's case. Indira will get her child back only if BN/Umno/MCA/MIC is chased out of Putrajaya.
The Mask: Zaid, you have said what we all want to say, but cannot for fear of the Twitter king. As I said before, we the ordinary people, have no immunity.
Who knows, one of these days, we may be charged for sedition when we fart in public and our fart is smelly enough to endanger people’s lives, and maybe national security.
It all depends on the current mood of the authorities. Case in point? Ali Tinju and Taman Medan cross incidents.
RR: Zaid, you are a material for prime minister in this plural society. I wrote this long ago when you were in PKR.
When Pakatan Harapan forms the next government, you should be appointed chief justice or attorney general to safeguard this nation and bring dignity to it.
Bumiputhran: Zaid, you are doing what many Malaysians, including me, are too cowardly to do. May the force be with you.
Ferdtan: "See how arrogant these people (judges) have become - you cannot hurt them at all," said Zaid.
Here’s a pertinent question: ‘Quis custodiet ipsos custodies?’ (meaning who will guard the guards themselves?)
We can only lament what has happened to our beloved country. Even listening to the nostalgic song from Anneke Gronloh, ‘Oh, Malaysia - Land of glory’ does not help.
There is no more hope left in the country when “cash is king.”
Abasir: Sagely put, Zaid. Nary a truer description of just one of the problems crippling this country. -Mkini
