UiTM police break in through the ceiling at 2.30am and find body of Associate Prof Zaini Hamzah.
SHAH ALAM: A lecturer of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) was found dead in a room at the university’s Faculty of Applied Science early on Saturday.
Shah Alam district police chief Shafien Mamat said the body of Associate Professor Dr Zaini Hamzah, 61, was found in a lying position in a locked room at 2.30 am.
“The auxiliary police (at the university) was informed by the university that a lecturer was trapped in a room and a policeman on duty went to the location and found the room locked.
“The policeman entered the room through the ceiling and found a man in a lying position and he was unconscious,” he said in a statement.
Shafien said the body was sent to Shah Alam Hospital for post mortem.
UiTM vice-chancellor Profesror Emeritus Datuk Dr Hassan Said described Zaini as a dedicated lecturer and his passing was a big loss to the university.
