PETALING JAYA: Police have denied a tweet claiming that a patrol car skipped the queue at a car wash in Lembah Pantai.

A Twitter user tagged the police in a post this afternoon, with a photo of a patrol car at a car wash and asked whether the police do not need to wait in line to get their cars washed.

In a statement, Brickfields police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor said initial investigations found that the patrol car was driven by an officer from the Pantai Dalam police station who went to the car wash in the area.

“After arriving at the location, the officer parked the patrol car at the back of the shop and waited for his turn.

“The policeman involved did not ask to cut the queue, but rather, the employee at the car wash directed him to enter (the car wash) first.

“After the patrol car was washed, the officer paid and left to continue his duty,” Amihizam said.

He added that he took a serious view of the allegation and warned that stern action would be taken against any police personnel who breach protocol in such a manner.

He added that members of the public who have information on such incidents may call the Brickfields police hotline at 03-2297 9222, the Kuala Lumpur contingent police hotline at 03-2115 9999, or any nearest police station. - FMT
