Kedah caretaker menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is godsent to lead the state, said PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin.
According to Hashim (above), Sanusi’s aura can help Perikatan Nasional (PN) retain its hold of Kedah in the upcoming state election and make him stay as the menteri besar, should the former happen.
“I see Sanusi as someone who can work round the clock. His aura, especially in Kedah, is very strong. Although his language can be crude at times, the rakyat can accept his arguments.
“It is not easy to get a leader like Sanusi, but Allah has given (Kedah). The rakyat can accept him and God-willing, it would not be easy for other parties to topple him, or PN, in Kedah,” Hashim told Utusan Malaysia in an interview.
Hashim further claimed that Sanusi was a menteri besar who put the rakyat’s interests ahead of his own and was friendly toward everyone.
Sanusi, who is also PN election director, has become the topic of various criticisms in recent days.
Multiple police reports have been lodged against him for allegedly insulting the Selangor sultan.
He has received widespread backlash and the police are investigating him for touching on 3R (race, religion, royalty) sentiments.
In addition, Sanusi has also become the subject of reports over his claims that non-Muslims make up the majority of people arrested for giving and receiving bribes.
Sanusi has apologised over his remark related to the Selangor sultan while maintaining it was spun out of his context by his political rivals. - Mkini
