KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will decide on the next domestic trade and cost of living minister after the six state polls.
The post has been left vacant following the death of Salahuddin Ayub last week.
“For the time being, Armizan will oversee the portfolio,” he said, referring to Armizan Ali, the Sabah and Sarawak affairs minister.
“I told Armizan to oversee the ministry along with (deputy minister) Fuziah Salleh and the secretary-general.”
He said this after attending the National Consumers Day 2023 celebration here.
Salahuddin died on July 23 at the Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar after suffering from a brain haemorrhage.
Six states, namely Penang, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Selangor and Kelantan, will go to the polls on Aug 12. - FMT
