KOTA KINABALU: A search is on for a girl who ran away from home after an argument with her family in Kg Dudar, Kota Belud.
The 11-year-old was said to have been in a huge quarrel with her family on Sunday (July 9) just before she ran out of the house in anger.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Hamsa Isnurdini said the girl had run into the forest near her house.
He said according to the girl’s family, she returned home at around 3.30am on Monday (July 10) but ran back into the woods when she saw there were people at home.
“We received a call about this missing girl at 7.54am (on Monday),” he said in a statement.
Hamsa said a search was mounted after gathering information on the girl and where she was last seen.
The search also involves officials from agencies such as the police and nearby villagers.
Meanwhile, there is still no sign of 13-year-old Mohd Hisham Iskandar Azli, who fell from a bridge in Tuaran on Saturday (July 8).
Search and rescue operations entered their third day on Monday and the search area has been expanded, Hamsa said. - Star
