Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng voiced puzzlement as to the reason Annuar Musa wants to countersue DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.
According to the DAP lawmaker, the PAS newcomer should feel praised to be compared to the Islamist party's chief, Abdul Hadi Awang.
"Since joining PAS, the statements made by Annuar have been bizarre. Yesterday, one of the peculiar things he stated was his intention to countersue Kit Siang for claiming that he emulated Hadi.
"Is Annuar seeking relevance in the nation's political arena after being expelled from Umno?" Lip Eng asked in a statement today.
He was responding to Annuar's remark, as reported by FMT earlier today, that he is planning to countersue Kit Siang after the DAP veteran accused him of emulating Hadi in making wild, nonsensical and baseless allegations since joining PAS.
Last week, Kit Siang instructed his lawyers to take legal action against Annuar after the latter linked the former to the deadly racial riots of May 13, 1969.
Elaborating, Lip Eng who also lodged a police report against Annuar over the matter yesterday, said Annuar should feel delighted to be equated to Hadi.
"In the eyes of PAS supporters, Hadi is a respected and revered figure. Thus, isn't it a compliment of the highest order for anyone from the party to exhibit similar traits to him?
