PETALING JAYA: DAP will not hesitate to replace its underperforming leaders if they fail to meet the key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the party.
“If any leader fails to meet the party’s KPIs, they will be replaced by other candidates in the upcoming general election,” secretary-general Loke Siew Fook said in his opening speech at the 22nd Perak DAP convention.
Loke said all of them must play an important role in shaping policies, adding that the party has representatives at all three levels of government — federal, state and local.
“All the representatives play an important role in shaping policies and ensuring the smooth functioning of the government while delivering benefits to the people.
“These are the KPIs and objectives we must remind ourselves of every day.
“I want to remind all our representatives that you are constantly being evaluated,” he said.
Loke later thanked Perak DAP for implementing a comprehensive performance evaluation mechanism.
“There is an annual report card assessing our representatives’ effectiveness, both inside and outside the legislative chambers, in their constituencies and their responsibilities to the party.
“All of this is being evaluated continuously,” Loke said.
