Is Akmal more ferocious than famed UMNO ‘tigers’ Ali Tinju, Papagomo & Jamal Jamban?

COULD UMNO Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh have joined the rank of the party’s “famous three mobsters” – Ali Tinju (Mohd Ali Baharom); Papagomo  (Muhammad Azri Wan Deris) and Jamal Jamban (Jamal Yunos)?

Or not quite there yet but given his notoriety, uncompromising demeanour coupled with his hardcore stance and unbreakable fighting spirit, he possesses every ounce to fare better in the near future than the trio from yesteryears.

More so given his party has given its backing for the Merlimau state assemblyman and Melaka state EXCO in-charge of Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security to pursue his defence of Islam in light of traitors and tycoons who need to be taught a lesson not to undermine the sanctity of Islam.

“What are you most afraid of this #boycottkkmart movement (boycott of all 881 KK Super Mart outlets nationwide sparked by the Allah inscription on socks controversy)? Aren’t you guys great – ministers, Tan Sri, professors, rich tycoons?” he rallied his target audience as per his latest Facebook post.

“After all, the people who want to boycott are merely the rakyat Marhaen (ordinary people). Are you afraid if this movement will trigger the unification of the people? The more you prevent the people to boycott, the stronger will the boycott exercise be. Keep calm and keep boycotting!”

Unlike Ali Tinju, Papagomo and Jamal Jamban, Akmal who is a Russia-trained medical doctor is likely to be “one-up” given that he is deemed educated, currently holds a political position and obviously possesses a strong political cable given that UMNO is in the driving seat in the unity government.

Below is some re-cap of UMNO’s three famous ‘tigers’ who are often mistaken as thugs or protestors-for-hire:

  • Ali Tinju

He is often remembered as the mobster infamous for inciting the Low Yat fiasco in 2015 to seek revenge for a 22-year-old Malay youth caught stealing a handphone at the IT Mall.

He was arrested by the police before 200 mostly gangsters could start racial riots as Ali provoked them to attack the ethnic Chinese even though it was a clear case of theft committed by the Malay youth. He used racial hatred under the pretext of Malays seeking justice and upholding their dignity.

A staunch supporter of disgraced former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Ali was also known for leading a group of dubious armed forces veterans in doing “butt dances” outside the house of then BERSIH 2.0 (Movement for Free and Fair Elections) co-chair Ambiga Sreenevasan in 2012.

  • Papagomo

The fake news blogger had posted a photo of a bloodied victim of a robbery in Shah Alam and linked it to the 2015 Low Yat brawl. Like fellow Ali Tinju, this gangster quickly abandoned the now incarcerated Najib after his downfall, pledging his support for backdoor prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin instead.

The former UMNO Youth EXCO member is currently facing criminal charges for making seditious remarks that the current Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s administration was pro-Israel and that the nation was in a “precarious position”.

  • Jamal Jamban

He was the leader of “Red Shirt” UMNO thugs said to be unleashed by Najib in 2015 to intimidate the Yellow Shirts (BERSIH) peaceful demonstrators at the peak of the 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Bhd) scandal.

His days of racist bullying came to an end after Najib was ousted in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Without UMNO’s protection, the once untouchable was reduced to hiding in oil palm estates as the authorities were hunting him for causing a public nuisance by smashing beer bottles with a sledgehammer in front of the Selangor state secretariat building and other charges related to firearms and rioting.

Today, the despicable racist and bully has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. – March 26, 2024 - focusmalaysia
