Police have reportedly arrested a politician over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage boy in Johor.
The 36-year-old suspect is allegedly a grassroots youth wing leader, according to The Star.
Mersing district police chief Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani told the English daily that the politician was arrested on Monday.
This was after two police reports were lodged claiming that the suspect had sexually assaulted the 15-year-old victim.
He said the alleged assault is said to have occurred some time ago.
However, police refused to confirm any links between the suspect and any political parties.
The suspect will be under police remand until Thursday.
No further details are available as of writing. - Mkini
