SEREMBAN: Fire destroyed a storage facility for scheduled chemical waste at Tanah Merah estate in Bukit Pelanduk, Port Dickson, this afternoon.

An official of the fire and rescue services said the facility was utterly ruined. The 100 sq ft storage facility belongs to the environmental quality division of Cenviro Sdn Bhd.

Four fire brigades from Port Dickson, Seremban and Rantau, involving 66 personnel, were deployed to the scene. “Firefighting operation is ongoing. No fatalities were reported,” the department said in a statement today. - FMT
