MACC gets new lead on whereabouts of Muhyiddin's 'wanted' son-in-law

MACC has a new lead on the whereabouts of former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law Muhammad Adlan Berhan, who is wanted over alleged corruption.

According to MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki, Adlan’s potential location was detected through a credit card transaction.

The commission is also seeking assistance from Interpol to trace the businessperson, he said.

“We have a new lead on his whereabouts, which came from monitoring his credit card usage. He was found to have visited several countries, and we have asked Interpol to help find him.

“But in his case, we are also trying to locate him using our own method so that he can be taken to court to face criminal charges,” Azam (above, right) was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.

He was speaking at a press conference after launching the Gua Musang MACC office in Kelantan earlier today.

The graftbuster has been looking for Adlan, who is married to Muhyiddin’s daughter Nabilah. Lawyer Mansoor Saat, a key figure in Ners Sdn Bhd, is also wanted.

The anti-corruption agency claimed they were wanted over a project involving registering and storing biometric information for foreign workers. The duo fled the country in May last year.

Following this, MACC has sought police assistance to place the duo’s name on Interpol’s red notice list. - Mkini
