One student in NZ crash still receiving follow-up treatment

 

The foreign ministry said all welfare arrangements for the students involved in the New Zealand road crash on March 30 have been completed.

PUTRAJAYA: One Malaysian student is still receiving follow-up treatment at Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand, following a road accident at Lake Tekapo on March 30 involving five Malaysians.

In a statement, the foreign ministry said two other injured students have been discharged from the hospital.

Of the two deceased, one was buried in Christchurch, while the remains of the other student was repatriated and buried in Malaysia, it said.

The ministry said all necessary welfare arrangements for the students involved in the accident have been completed.

It also expressed its appreciation to all parties involved, including the New Zealand government, Timaru Hospital, Christchurch Hospital, University of Canterbury and the Malaysian community in Christchurch. - FMT
