PETALING JAYA: DAP MP RSN Rayer said he will not apologise to preacher Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu over remarks he made in the Dewan Rakyat recently.
The Jelutong MP said he stood by what he said in the lower house.
“I do not need 14 days to apologise and retract my statement. I will see Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu in court,” he said in a brief statement this evening.
This afternoon, Zamri demanded an apology from Rayer for calling for legal action to be taken against the preacher for allegedly insulting Hindus.
Zamri is also demanding that Rayer retract his statement against him.
He gave Rayer 14 days to do so.
Zamri said several police reports were lodged against him in 2021 after he was alleged by several individuals to have insulted Lord Shiva in a video uploaded on Facebook and YouTube.
He said he was remanded for four days following the reports.
He said despite the authorities deciding that no further action would be taken against him, Rayer repeated the claims in the Dewan Rakyat recently. - FMT
