Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim has beseeched Pahang’s Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah to order the establishment of an Orang Asli Commission to survey and define where Orang Asli customary lands in the state are.
He said the commission should include Orang Asli representatives, historians, and anthropologists.
His suggestion came after Sultan Abdullah again reiterated his position that “customary lands” are not defined by law and should not be used arbitrarily.

Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah Zaid, however, reminded the ruler that the Court of Appeal had in 2015 ruled that Orang Asli customary rights may exist and be recognised - even if the land had been gazetted as Malay reserve land.

“I am indebted to those who have never stopped praying for us. The solemnisation will be on Oct 10, while the wedding receptions will also be held in the same month. They will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Muar and Sabah,” Syed Saddiq said.
