DAP's Bukit Gasing assemblyperson Edward Lee died this morning after a battle with cancer, according to his colleague.
Lee, 64, had worked for Selangor exco member Elizabeth Wong who is in charge of tourism, consumer affairs and environment portfolio.
"Edward was my assistant exco. Met him about 10 years ago when we worked on Petaling Jaya Local Plan1 and Save Bukit Gasing (campaign). Dedicated community activist," said Wong in a posting on her Facebook webpage this morning.
Lee, a community leader was elected to the Bukit Gasing state seat in the 2008 general election.

He defeated Dr Lim Thuang Seng of Gerakan with a majority of 8,812 votes.
There will be no by-election as the Selangor legislative assembly has gone past the two-thirds mark of its term. The seat will be filled in the next polls.
