KUALA LUMPUR: Intermittent heavy rains are expected in parts of Sabah and Sarawak until Thursday and can cause flooding in low-lying areas.
The Meteorological Department said the affected areas in Sabah were Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Sandakan, Kota Belud and Ranau while in Sarawak, the same was expected in Kuching, Bau, Lundu, Samarahan and Serian.
Intermittent moderate rainfull was expected to occur in some areas in Kota Tinggi and Mersing in Johor and Rompin and Kuantan in Pahang until Friday.
The department also said rising sea levels were expected to occur on the East Coast of Peninsular until Thursday.
Strong Northeast winds at 60kmh have been forecasted for some areas on the East Coast of the Peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak, while the sea is expected to be rough as high as 5.5m.
The sea off Langkawi, Perlis and northern Kedah is expected to be at 3.5m and dangerous to all coastal and marine activities. - Bernama
