Malays rights NGO Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali is unfazed by speculation that he will come face-to-face with a PAS heavyweight in the next general election.
Come what may, Ibrahim said, he would defend his Pasir Mas parliamentary seat, unbowed and unafraid.
"Whoever PAS wants to field, it is the party's right... I fear only Allah.
"I will defend my seat... the only one I surrender and bow down to is Allah," he told Malay language dailyBerita Harian.
Ibrahim, who won the seat in the 2008 general election on a PAS ticket and then quit the party to sit as an Independent in Parliament, has been tipped to face a vice-president of the Islamic party, Salahuddin Ayub (right).
It is speculated that current Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa will contest in Kubang Kerian, the seat Salahuddin now holds.
If Ibrahim were to defend his seat and PAS moves to wrest it away, it is expected that a three-cornered fight will take place, with a BN candidate completing the line-up.
Asked if he would agree to jump party lines again and run under the BN ticket, Ibrahim said he will cross that bridge, if and when he got there.
"I cannot comment now... a horse can only drink when it gets to the river," he said.
