NFC: Mahfuz warns MACC over probe, says PM, DPM must also be called

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission which reversed its earlier decision not to to investigate scandal-plagued National Feedlot Corporation has been urged to also haul up deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yasin and his boss Najib Razak for investigation.

PAS vice president Mahfuz Omar said Muhyiddin should be called as he was the then Agriculture minister, while Najib was the chairman of high impact projects committee which approved the RM250 million project awarded to the family of Women, Family and Development minister, Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

“MACC and the police must show transparency and integrity by calling cabinet members including the prime minister and deputy prime minister. We don’t want the investigation to only focus on where the RM250 million given to NFC had been spent,” said the Pokok Sena member of parliament.

Earlier, in a sharp turn from its earlier insistence that NFC should be a police case, MACC announced the setting-up of a special team headed by its investigation director Mustafar Ali to probe whether there was criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of funds in the scandal.
