'Papagomo link proves Umno is behind sex video'

Clearance by the Umno-dominated government for blogger Papagomo to board the country's newest and most expensive submarine is evidence that the party had a hand in opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's alleged sex video.

"He could not have done so (boarded the submarine) unless he enjoyed close and confidential links with top Umno leaders, including vice-president and Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi," PKR vice-president N Surendran said today.

Surendran pointed out that Papagomo, whose real name is Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, had earlier this year obtained exclusive footage of the sex video.

"Papagomo, who was a key player in the sex video criminal conspiracy, has now been proven to be on intimate terms with top Umno leaders.

"It can now no longer be doubted that Umno and the government have been the 'secret hand' behind the 'Datuk T' sex video conspiracy."

Reliance on 'vulgar mercenaries'

Datuk T, code name for 'Datuk Trio', comprises former Malacca Chief Minister Rahim Thamby Chik, former honorary Thai consul Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Perkasa treasurer-general and ex-senator Shuib Lazim.

The trio had in March arranged the screening of the sex video at a luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which purportedly showed Anwar and a woman of East Asian descent.

Surendran said Umno and the government had relied upon "vulgar mercenaries" like Papagomo to carry out political warfare against the federal opposition.

"Umno is even prepared to compromise national security by allowing an anonymous blogger to board a sensitive naval craft."

The government and Umno, he said, must immediately reveal the full extent and particulars of their dealings and relationship with Papagomo.

"We further demand that Umno and the government abandon the politics of lies and conspiracy, and engage the opposition in fair debate," Surendran added.
