Millions spent on Tamil schools? Really, Najib?

Hindraf Makkal Sakthi disputes the prime minister's claim that the government had spent RM340 million on Tamil schools over the past three years
PETALING JAYA: The government must account for the millions it claims to have allocated for Tamil schools as most of them are still in a dilapitated state, Hindraf Makkal Sakthi said.
It’s pro-tem secretary-general, P Uthayakumar, in a letter to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, said he would drag the government to court should the premier fail to account for his statement.
The NST quoted Najib in a report yesterday, saying that over the past three years, the government had spent RM340 million on Tamil schools nationwide.
Najib was reported to have said this at a Ponggal celebration at Kelab Kilat TNB, Kapar, on Sunday.
Citing examples, Uthayakumar said even the fully-aided Jalan Tajol Tamil School in Kota Tinggi has no canteen, a school field or a proper working toilet despite the “generous grant”.
“The St Helier Tamil School in Bahau was certified unsafe by the Works Ministry but nothing has been done till now to rectify it,” Uthayakumar said, adding that it even lacks classrooms.
He urged Najib to stop his political charades and shenanigans and address the problems faced by Tamil schools immediately.
“The prime minister must address the shameful state of Tamil schools in the country which are even denied basic amenities and facilities.
“Remember that Article 12 of the Federal Constitution provides that there shall be no discrimination in providing education out of the funds of a public authority,” he said.
Hindraf filed a civil suit against the government on Feb 9, among others, wanting it to convert all Tamil schools in Malaysia into fully-aided ones.

  1. RM3 mil for Najib-Rosmah's trip but official plane also landed in Milan & Dubai
Milan is the capital of super-luxury goods. Dubai - the City for 6-star hotels. Mahathir’s sons are directors of 200 companies and drive some of the most expensive cars in the world? eg the Ferrari Enzo & the RM5.5million Bugatti Veyron…Sarawak’s Taib 31 yrs in power, now a multi-billionaire: ….. Hell is awaiting !. Many natives in Sarawak had their land grabbed from them, many don’t even have electricity & good drinking water.
‪Twitter quote: ‘Mubarak‬ cried and resisted leaving the helicopter that took him to prison. Why do dictators love to act like big babies’ Let this, Gaddaffi & Saddam etc be a warning to others.

  2. African Apartheid is rampant in Malaysia. It has neither transparency (non-corruption) nor real human rights, neither freedom of the media nor true democracy. eg: 99% of National Oil Petronas’ staff are Malays (only 50% of the population - Wikipedia). ‘Bumiputra’. How can a race be treated superior to another, especially when they work the least. The crime of apartheid is defined by the 2002 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court as inhumane acts of a character similar to other crimes against humanity" committed in the context of an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group or groups and committed with the intention of maintaining that regime."

  3. On 30 Nov ‘73, the UN General Assembly opened for signature and ratification the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid.[1] It defined the crime of apartheid as "inhuman acts committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them." . The blacks are only 14% of US population, if Obama can be US President, an Indian or Dayak or Chinese can be a Malaysian PM…think about it! How tragically you’ve been treated.

  4. BN.UMNO leaders command zero respect from the transparent, democratic world community. They talk and behave like dishonest car salesmen. "You help me I help you.." Void of moral & ethics with no consideration for human-rights & equality. Corrupt Malaysian leaderships cannot attract men of integrity; neither can they enact & foster laws to maintain high moral standards, transparency, performance & success in governments like leaders in DAP’s Penang, NZ & Singapore.
