He declined to reveal the ranks of the two police officers but confirmed that both had been suspended with immediate effect.
Investigation papers have been opened against both men, who play an active role in the ongoing Ops Cantas, a crackdown on active secret societies in the country.
Khalid said both officers are alleged to have sent text messages with racially-discriminating content to their friends, who are then believed to have circulated the messages to other friends.
A police report was later lodged by a member of the public who received the text and found it offensive.
"I think that I have mentioned this before. Any policeman who steps out of line and breaks the law will be hauled up and investigated. Nobody is above the law, and that includes my own men," Khalid told The Malaysian Insider when contacted tonight.
