Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said today it was not essential for Malaysia to gain custody of the “black boxes” from Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
He said what is important is to find the devices, adding that all he wanted is to find out the truth.
"In order to find the truth, we have to reveal the content of the black boxes," Hishammuddin (pic, right) said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
On Attorney-General Tan Sri Gani Patail’s trip to the UK where he is holding discussions on the black boxes, Hishammuddin said the man had been appointed to oversee the legal matters in relation to MH370.
"We are looking at everything to ensure everything runs smoothly including legalities as well as diplomatic matters as this is a multinational operation. I myself have no authority to direct him on this matter. The cabinet appointed him at the beginning," said Hishammuddin, referring to Gani. –TMI
