In one of his last speeches before the possibility of jail this Tuesday, Anwar Ibrahim said it is too late for anyone to bribe him out of his present predicament.
The opposition leader gave his assurance that he was in for the long haul.
"I want to tell those in power: do not threaten me, insult me or try to buy me," Anwar told a 500-strong crowd in Sungai Dua, Penang, today.
"It is too late. No amount of money can buy me out of this," said the Permatang Pauh MP.
"Don't threaten (me) with jail and conviction. I don't care. I am here to support the people's struggle of Penang and Malaysia.
"I will not compromise and will never surrender," he said fiercely, to loud applause.
Earlier, Anwar arrived at the pasar malam in a carnival-like atmosphere, flanked by supporters and greeted by a lion dance.
After his speech, a supporter presented him with a framed poem, while another asked him for his autograph on a magazine which featured Anwar's photo on the front page. Several others took selfies with him.

Anwar urge the powers to be not to insult him as one cannot be certain how the future would unfold.
"I was detained under the Internal Security Act and became a deputy prime minister.
"I was sentenced to five years jail (in 2012 for sodomy II) and nearly became prime minister," he said.
"In the last general elections (May 2013), we got 52 percent of the popular support, so do not underestimate me," he quipped.
Anwar returns to the Federal Court on Tuesday to hear whether he would be freed or face a five-year jail term, as ruled by the Court of Appeal.
Since last month, Anwar has been on a hectic roadshow to meet and mobilise support for his court case.
After Sungai Dua, Anwar will head for Seberang Jaya and a grand ceramah in Ampang Jajar in his constituency.
Penang PKR is preparing five buses to mobilise at least 2,000 people to go to Putrajaya and show support for Anwar. - M'kini
