KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese New Year travellers heading for Perlis and Kedah, or South Johor on February 13 should plan to start their journey between 6am and 8am, the north-south expressway toll operator PLUS said in a statement.
Those heading to Penang and North Johor should start between 8am and noon.
Those going to north and central Perak, or Melaka, should start their journey at noon to 6pm.
Those going to south Perak and Negeri Sembilan should leave after 6pm.
PLUS would also provide a 20% toll rebate for all class 1 users who adhere to its travel guide, use electronic payments and travel for more than 100km on peak days on February 17, 18, 21, and 22.
PLUS expects about 1.5 million vehicles to use the highway on the peak days, a 15% increase.
Its managing director, Noorizah Abd Hamid said discounts would be given on non-peak days to class 1 vehicle motorists who travel more than 100km and used electronic payment through PLUSMiles card, Touch ‘n Go or SmartTAG.
