The police are working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to investigate Facebook user who made obscene and vulgar comments toward Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said police were now investigating the case before the investigation papers on the issue were submitted to the attorney-general's office.
"The process is quite complicated and not easy to solve," he told reporters after visiting Siswaniaga Complex in Kolej Poly-Tech MARA in Kuantan today.
“Kagawa Onieshia” was alleged to have written the comment in response to Tunku Azizah Maimunah's advice over an irresponsible action of some football supporters who displayed a giant banner depicting the image of two dogs in the charity shield match at the Tan Sri Dato Hj Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin, Johor Baru, on Saturday.
Seven non-governmental organisations (NGO) had filed a police report at the Kuantan police headquarters on Monday in connection with the comments.
A separate police report was also filed against those who displayed the banner during the match.
Wan Junaidi said public criticism of the rulers were allowed according to the country's constitution, but not to the extent of insulting them.
"Our constitution clearly states that royalty can be criticised, but not insulted," he said. – Bernama
