Umno deputy president hopeful Annuar Musa wants BN to be reviewed or reformed so as to become a better opposition.
The Ketereh MP said that this new vision could be achieved with a combination of opposition parties together with parties in the new Pakatan Harapan government.
"BN itself is what we must look at. Insya-Allah (we) will have the form of a new force. Don't be surprised if it is a combination of the current government and opposition.
"When we look at it, in the current government are the faces of once-Umno players. They are the players that have been imported from the old team (Umno), " he said in an interview live-streamed by Sinar Harian.
The current Umno information chief, however, did not elaborate further on the proposal and how it would work.
Annuar also said that should he win the deputy presidency, he would gather all elected representatives in the party to brief them on how to be a more credible opposition.
He said: "We must be a credible opposition, not just based on rhetoric and revenge. That is why I hope after the party polls tomorrow, if I am elected, (then) together with the president we will gather all the elected representatives from parliament and state assemblies.
"We need clear guidelines, what will the opposition from Umno be like. We do not want an opposition that is (out for) revenge or being an opposition for the sake of being an opposition.
"If (the prime minister) Tun (Dr Mahathir Mohamd) or the Pakatan Harapan government does something good, we support. Where we need to admonish, we will admonish," he reportedly said. - Mkini
