Man to face 67 charges for raping 14-year-old daughter and her friend

 

A 42-year-old man is expected to face 67 counts of charges tomorrow for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter and her friend of the same age.

According to Klang Selatan police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli, the suspect had been raping his own daughter since fours year ago.

He will be charged at the Klang Sessions Court tomorrow with nine counts of charges under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code for rape which provides a maximum of 20 years imprisonment and whipping upon conviction, and 58 counts of charges under Section 376B(1) of the Penal Code for incest which provides a maximum of 30 years imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.

Shamsul said in the first case, investigations showed that the suspect had coaxed his daughter's friend to follow him to his house in Klang on Jan 7.

"The suspect had then pushed the victim on the bed and raped her. After that, he told the victim not to tell anyone.

"But the victim told her friend known as Natasha (not the suspect's daughter), and the latter had revealed the incident to the victim's mother.

"The victim was then brought to the police station to file a report," Shamsul said in a statement.

Subsequently, the suspect's daughter, accompanied by her mother, also filed a report after learning that her friend took the matter to the police station.

She had revealed that her father had raped her since she was 10 years old, with the latest incident allegedly took place last month.

The suspect, who is a sugarcane juice seller, has a record of two criminal cases, including a drug-related offence.- Mkini
