Water supplies to all areas previously affected by an unscheduled disruption have been restored, Selangor water management company Air Selangor said.
It’s Corporate Communications head Elina Baseri said all 463 areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Kuala Langat and Putrajaya have seen their water supply fully restored at 6am today.
“Air Selangor would like to thank all users for their patience and cooperation given during this period of unscheduled water disruption,” Elina said in a press statement.
Residents in Selangor suffered an unscheduled water disruption beginning on Tuesday after the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant stopped its work due to odour pollution at the sourcing river.
This is not the first time the state has faced widespread water disruption due to river pollution.
Last year, four people were charged in court for releasing waste from a factory in Rawang into the nearby Sungai Kundang, which caused water disruptions for residents in 1,292 areas across the state.
Elina said consumers in the state can follow official information about water disruptions through its Air Selangor app, as well as its social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Alternatively, they can also visit the Air Selangor website at www.airselangor.com or forward any questions and feedback to its helpline at 15300. - Mkini
