Eight areas in Sabah, Pahang to go under EMCO

 

PETALING JAYA: Two localities in Sabah and six in Pahang will go under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Sept 4 until Sept 17, according to the National Security Council (MKN).

In a statement this evening, the MKN director general Rodzi Md Saad said two in Kota Kinabalu – Taman Keramat and the Angkasa Apartment – will go under the EMCO from Sept 4.

In Pahang, six other localities will go under the EMCO – three Orang Asli villages in Temerloh (Kampung Kuala Terbol, Kampung Pian and Kampung Lubok Wong), two in Kuantan (Penor prison and Rumah Kongsi Pinggiran Goh) as well as Sempalit in Raub.

Meanwhile, the EMCO at Kampung Batang and Kampung Blau in Gua Musang, Kelantan, as well as the Bentong prison complex including the staff quarters at Bentong, Pahang will be extended until Sept 17.

In Sabah, the EMCO at nine localities will end tomorrow. These involve Kampung Pulau Penampang, University Condominium Apartment 2 and Rumah Murah Kepayan (Kota Kinabalu); Kampung Baru Pasir Putih and Kampung Wallace Bay (Tawau); Cepat plantation housing Wawasan 7,000 and Meridian Paitan plantation housing (Beluran); and Kampung Gambaron 1 and Ribu Bonus plantation (Telupid).

In Pahang, the EMCO at Sungai Lebak Orang Asli village in Bentong will also end on Sept 3, as well as the Taman Nilan (blue zone) in Langkawi, Kedah. - FMT
