Federal Territories PKR wants the party logo to be used in the next general election.
This comes despite Pakatan Harapan already being formally registered and having a common logo.
In a joint statement comprising 26 Federal Territories PKR divisional leaders, state leadership and MPs, they said the decision was based on a "winning formula".
"The PKR logo is a brand that is recognised by all Malaysians after being seen and felt by the people for more than 20 years," they said.
They added that PKR's "Justice for all" slogan also appeals to the people, regardless of demography.
"This has been proven by a majority of the people who supported and gave their mandate (under the PKR logo) during the 14th general election and they expect the reform agenda to continue," the leaders said.
The Federal Territories PKR leaders said their party logo is a sacred symbol representing the defence of the common people and the struggle against corruption and tyranny.
The Pakatan Harapan parties had used the PKR logo in Peninsular Malaysia during the last general election as the then BN government refused to allow Harapan to register as a formal coalition.
The move was also taken as a sign of solidarity among the component parties.
However, Harapan was allowed to register as a formal coalition after it came to power.
The component parties have also been using the Harapan logo in by-elections in Peninsular Malaysia.
For East Malaysia, the component parties have used their own respective logos.
The 26 signatories of the statement included three MPs, namely P Prabakaran (Batu), Tan Yee Kew (Wangsa Maju) and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (Setiawangsa). - Mkini
