Hadi hopes to do more as special envoy

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said his reappointment as a special envoy to the Middle East will allow him to continue his current tasks and more.

Speaking to reporters in Rusila in Terengganu today, Hadi said his previous tenure allowed him to hold bilateral talks with 10 countries on politics, economy and education.

"My work was followed up by other ministers through a series of official visits and (our discussions) also involved improving palm oil trade.

"We are also talking to Egypt and Jordan on education and helping the Palestinians. Work has been done and now we get to continue (with it) and do more," said Hadi, according to Utusan Malaysia.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob's cabinet reappointed all three special envoys appointed during the Muhyiddin Yassin administration.

The other two special envoys are Tiong King Sing (China) and Richard Riot (East Asia).

All three of them are MPs. They resigned after Muhyiddin stepped down as prime minister last month.

There have only been eight special envoys appointed by the government.
