MIC remains a BN component party despite differences in political views, said the party’s deputy president, M Saravanan.
Saravanan, who is also the human resources minister, said the matter should not be seen as hostile if there are differences because the establishment of the three-component parties in BN is not based on individual aspirations but a struggle way before independence.
“We have to realise that when we have different views, it does not mean we are not together. However, the relationship between Umno, MIC and MCA remains the same, with contrasting opinions and so on, but in the end, our stance is the same,” he said.
Saravanan was speaking to reporters after handing over Social Security Organisation (Socso) benefits to the widow of a security guard who died after being ill for a long time as a result of being assaulted by a homestay guest at a condominium at her house in Taman Buntong Ria, Ipoh, today.
He said the strong cooperation and loyalty between MIC, MCA and Umno could be seen when BN faced defeat in the 14th general rlection, which saw many parties leaving the coalition.
But the cooperation between the three allies remains steadfast.
Asked about the allegation that the administration of the new government formed now is a Perikatan Nasional government led by the prime minister from BN, Saravanan said:
“It is up to the views of individuals. Most importantly, the government is the Malaysian Family concept.
