PETALING JAYA: Air Selangor says the water supply to affected areas will be restored in stages after the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (WTP) resumed operations on Saturday (Sept 4) morning.
The WTP had been temporarily shut down following odour pollution at the Sungai Semenyih raw water source.
“Water supply in the affected areas will be channelled back in stages starting from 6pm Saturday,” Air Selangor said in a press statement.
“It is expected to be fully restored to all 463 affected areas in five regions by 6am Monday (Sept 6).
“All affected areas are the same as those that experienced a similar unscheduled water disruption recently (on Aug 31),” it said.
The affected regions are: Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (194 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) dan Kuala Langat (20 areas).
Air Selangor said consumers can obtain the water supply restoration list from the Air Selangor app or at hentitugas.airselangor.com
