PETALING JAYA: Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, a member of PKR’s central leadership, has announced that he will be in the running to be a vice-president at the party elections next month.
He said he would not defend his position in the central leadership council
Abdullah, who is MP for Kapar, said his challenge for one of the vice-presidents’ post was “to foster family-like competition within the party”.
He said the Reformasi struggle had not been fully established even though PKR and Pakatan Harapan had won power after the 2018 general election.
“We were betrayed by those who we believed were supporters of the struggle,” he added, referring to the “Sheraton Move” in which a group of PKR members allied themselves with Bersatu to form a new Perikatan Nasional government.
He said the Sheraton Move “has taught us better to identify who is with us and who is against us”.
The PKR elections will take place from May 13-18, with nominations set for April 9. - FMT
