KOTA KINABALU: No sooner had health authorities scrambled to set right a power outage at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH1) when a burst pipe caused a major leak this morning at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital II (QEH2).
According to a source, the incident which occurred at about 10am, caused major flooding at the basement car park in the main building of QEH2.
The source also said the incident had forced the hospital to cancel all elective surgeries for today.
“Repair work is being done and it is expected to be completed at about 6pm,” the source told FMT.
When contacted, Sabah health director Dr Rose Nani Mudin told FMT that she would provide details soon.
A video that has been shared on social media shows several people, believed to be hospital workers, clearing the water pouring down from the ceiling at the basement car park.
