Police today urged parents to always monitor the whereabouts of their underage children and not let them ride motorcycles or get involved in illegal racing.
The reminder came following an accident in Pasir Gudang, Johor last night where three teenagers, aged between 15 and 16, were killed while allegedly racing on their motorcycles.
Seri Alam district police believed the victims were racing each other when the crash happened at about 10.30pm along the road in Taman Kota Masai.
"It is believed that their motorcycles grazed each other during the race.
"The accident caused three of the victims to be thrown to the left side of the road while the other was thrown to the right side of the road," district police chief Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said, as quoted by the New Straits Times.
The accident also saw another teenager, aged 17, injured.
Sohaimi said the police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless or dangerous driving. - Mkini
