PETALING JAYA: A love affair with a married woman is believed to have resulted in the death of a foreigner, whose body was found at an oil palm estate in Sepang yesterday.
Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the man was believed to have had an affair with a local married woman in 2020.
The 25-year-old man, whose hands were tied, was found disembowelled near a shack in an oil palm estate, about 50m from Jalan Sepang-Salak, yesterday.
Wan Kamarul said the man was suspected to have had a relationship with the woman when her then husband flew back to his country after the movement control order was imposed to control the spread of Covid-19.
He said the victim’s cousin had shared this information with the police after learning about the murder.
“The woman’s husband had returned to Malaysia in August 2021 and later found out that she had been unfaithful. They were later divorced,” Kamarul said. The couple had three children.
Following investigations, police picked up three foreign men, aged between 24 and 50, in Padang Jawa, Shah Alam. They are believed to be the husband’s former roommates.
“We believe this killing was triggered by jealousy.
“We are continuing our investigations into this case. We have yet to locate the woman’s former husband,” Wan Kamarul said.- FMT
