PETALING JAYA: It was a close call for ace diver Datuk Pandelela Rinong (pic) as she dodged a toilet tank mishap that could have caused her serious harm.
In a post on social media, the 29-year-old who escaped with cuts to the heel of her left foot, shared that the mishap happened at her diving gym on Thursday morning (April 14).
The Olympic medalist in her post said it was a morning she would always remember.
"Thankfully I survived with only minor cuts.
"Don't know if I should laugh or cry," she joked after sharing photos of the cuts on her foot and the incident which showed the toilet tank having shattered over a squatting toilet.
The tank appears to have dislodged from the brackets on the wall and fallen a few feet onto the toilet, shattering to pieces.
Netizens were quick to wish her a speedy recovery with many expressing their concerns and well wishes for the veteran diver.
Many expressed their relief that she escaped with minor injuries sharing that it could have been serious.
Pandelela Rinong is set to be part of the action for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games this July.
