Recruitment portal inaccessible after minister's denial of link

Following Human Resources Minister M Saravanan’s denial of its links with the ministry yesterday, the MyOCS domestic worker recruitment portal is displaying an “under maintenance” notice to visitors to the site.

Both Saravanan and Labour Department director-general Asri Rahman had assured Malaysiakini that they would “look into the web portal” that had prominently displayed the ministry logo on every page.

This will be the second time in over two months the portal has become inaccessible to visitors.

Just last month, MyOCS.com.my was known as 3sMalaysia.com.

Following a report on the portal published on March 3, it became inaccessible for reasons unknown, but renewed attempts to access 3sMalaysia.com on April 1 were redirected to MyOCS.com.my.

While an industry source had revealed last month that this portal had been appointed to link up with Indonesia’s system in the recruitment and placement of their domestic workers in Malaysia, Saravanan had denied knowing about the website.

Instead, Saravanan had revealed yesterday that Bestinet Sdn Bhd’s Foreign Worker Centralised Management System would be processing applications for Indonesian domestic workers through the One Channel System.

He said the link-up would be confirmed after his meeting with the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono, scheduled later yesterday.

Earlier this month, Malaysiakini revealed that all data on the website was the exclusive right of a foreign-owned private company, 3S Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

It was also reported that other owners of the 3S Malaysia Sdn Bhd were TAB Capital Sdn Bhd, an investment holding company and an individual, Yap Kon Min. - Mkini
