PETALING JAYA: Police arrested four foreign nationals on suspicion of soliciting money and causing public disturbance in Genting Highlands yesterday.
Bentong police chief Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the suspects, all women aged between 30 and 34, were believed to have been conducting the activities since last Friday, Sinar Harian reported.
He said the authorities acted after they received complaints that the women were harassing passersby and asking for money.
Their activities were also recorded and shared on social media yesterday.
Zaiham said the four women were taken to the Genting Highlands police station for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 27(c) of the Minor Offences Act 1955. Those convicted of soliciting money in a public place face a fine of up to RM100, a month’s jail or both. - FMT
