PETALING JAYA: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) is conducting an internal investigation on the alleged bullying case at its training centre in Kuantan, last week.
Defence minister Mohamad Hasan told reporters that the investigation is being conducted based on the police report lodged by the victim’s father.
“We have not received any complaints on the matter but a report was lodged with the police.
“The police’s investigating officer has visited the RMAF training centre for an inspection. At this moment, the investigation is still ongoing.
“We have given full cooperation to the police and the RMAF is also conducting an in-depth investigation,” he said after attending his ministry’s Hari Raya celebrations today.
Yesterday, a social media post by a woman claiming her younger brother was bullied at the training centre went viral.
The woman also shared photographs of soldiers with the rank of corporal that she said had bullied her brother during training.
Mohamad said each military personnel must follow a standard operating procedure during training and action would be taken against those who failed to do so.
Meanwhile, Pahang police chief Ramli Yoosuf confirmed that the police had received a report on the incident, adding that no arrests had been made. - FMT
