Govt parties' youth wings form 'Unity Gang' to strengthen cooperation

 

A “Unity Gang” comprising youth wings of component parties will be launched to serve as the latest platform for government parties to work together, said Umno Youth chief Muhamad Akmal Saleh.

It will be launched in conjunction with the Unity Government National Convention at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

He said the Unity Gang would strengthen cooperation among the component parties and aid their machinery for the six state elections to be held this year.

“This is a new platform for youth wings of component parties in the government comprising BN, Pakatan Harapan, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Warisan, and Muda.

“This Unity Gang will be led by youth leaders and we believe the experience they gained in elections can lead to a good collaboration in facing the state polls and to strengthen the government,” he told reporters here today.

Akmal (above), who is Malacca Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security Committee chairperson, had earlier presented certificates to participants of a cockle farming course.

He said the setting up of this machinery proved that collaboration among component parties in the government was going well.

The country’s future is more important than political interests and Umno Youth would not have any problems cooperating with its counterparts in the government, he added.
