Sivarraajh's aide lodges report over alleged threat from MIC man

An aide to Senator C Sivarraajh has lodged a police report over threats allegedly issued by an MIC member.

According to S Mathiswarman, the alleged threat came after he replied to an Instagram comment that insulted his boss Sivarraajh (above) who quit MIC last week.

“I came across a news portal’s Instagram post about my boss quitting MIC and a comment by the man, who is former Federal Territories MIC Youth chief.

“The comment called Sivarraajh an ungrateful person who has forgotten all the assistance ‘Datuk Seri’ (MIC deputy president M Saravanan) had rendered while in MIC,” Mathiswarman said in his police report lodged at the Bayan Baru police station in Penang, yesterday.

The suspect will be referred to as “Aru” henceforth, as a criminal suspect cannot be named before being charged in court.

“Aru” further urged Sivarraajh not to be “power crazy” and repent, he added.

Mathiswarman said he then replied to this comment, implying that “Aru” does not deserve to lecture others about gratitude as he had personally benefited from Sivarraajh previously.

“Minutes later, I received calls from ‘Aru’s’ number but I could not pick up as I was busy with other tasks.

“However, when I called him later to check, Aru told me that I was messing with the wrong person and threatened to beat me and chop me up if he saw me next,” Mathiswarman said when contacted.

Mathiswarman, who regularly travels from Penang to Kuala Lumpur for work, lodged the report as he feared for his safety.

According to him, he also received several calls from another MIC member whom he knows as a supporter of Saravanan but did not entertain them for fear of escalating the situation.

Mathiswarman said he deleted his reply to the Instagram comment but was still advised by his friends to be careful following the purported threat.

“I am lodging this report as I fear for my safety and urge the police to take immediate action on the matter,” he said in his report.

It is learnt that the suspect who issued the alleged threat was picked up by a police team from Penang early today in Kuala Lumpur. - Mkini
