KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan Kedah chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar is confident that the coallition, along with Barisan Nasional will topple the Pas-led Perikatan Nasional (PN) state government in Kedah.
He said the PH-BN pact is confident in winning 16 state seats basd on data and statistics it has gathered from the ground.
"We have strength in urban and suburban areas, but what people need to see is how change has now reached rural areas.
"This change is seen (with the people) as they can no longer accept (PN).
"They might have been swayed by (PN) during the general election (last year).
"(However), they now feel they might have made a mistake by voting for PN because they had believed in the sentiments that were played up on how their race and religion were in danger," he said.
'formula' in the state assembly and asserts they only need just 3 more to secure their win.
When asked about Pas' confidence especially Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's assertion to win in at least 30 seats in the 36-seat state assembly, Mahfuz said such words were said to show that PN was not weak. - NST
