KUALA LUMPUR: Footages of KL City FC fans allegedly being assaulted by Johor Military Force (JMF) personnel and several men dressed in civilian clothing has gone viral on social media today.
The footage was recorded during the FA Cup 2023 football final match between Johor Darul Ta'zim and KL City FC, held at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Saturday.
In the first video, circulating on Whatsapp, a uniformed man believed to be a JMF officer is seen walking aggressively towards several spectators before dragging them out of the stadium sitting area.
A second video shows the same scene taken from a different angle.
A third, more disturbing video shows a man on the floor, while several men kicks him repeatedly. This 13-second video is taken from outside the stadium, behind the spectator's sitting area. Since being posted on Twitter, it has garnered over 140k views.
On Instagram, a picture of the bruised up alleged victim was uploaded by user nan manjoi8715.
Police have called for witnesess to step forward.
Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Rahmat Ariffin confirmed a police report was lodged by a 30-year-old victim at the Sungai Besi police station, in Kuala Lumpur, at 11.50am yesterday (July 23).
At press time, the Johor Military Force, nor Johor Darul Ta'zim football club has released any statement on the alleged incidents. - NST
