PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional have agreed to only decide on their menteri besar candidate for Negeri Sembilan if they win the state in the Aug 12 polls.
“The top leadership (of both coalitions) have agreed to hold negotiations on the Negeri Sembilan menteri besar candidate after the state elections,” state Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias said at a programme in Jelebu.
PKR vice-president Aminuddin Harun is the caretaker Negeri Sembilan menteri besar.
On July 7, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim said the two coalitions would discuss if Aminuddin would be their poster boy and menteri besar candidate for the Negeri Sembilan state polls.
The prime minister said he was happy with Aminuddin’s performance as menteri besar since his appointment to the post in 2018.
Yesterday, Anwar said Amirudin Shari would remain Selangor menteri besar if PH retained the state in next month’s polls. - FMT
